David Lyon has practiced complex litigation in California since 1987.  He obtained his law degree from the University of Chicago School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University.  He was previously an associate with the firms of Jackson, Tufts, Cole & Black and Keker & Van Nest.

 

Mr. Lyon was worked on a wide range of matters, on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. His litigation work includes representing defrauded investors against a national bank and a national accountancy firm and on behalf of the government against negligent savings and loan directors, both of which matters resulted in settlements in excess of $100 million.  He has worked on a large number of employment matters, ranging from wage and hour matters to discrimination and harassment claims, in both individual and class action.  He has also been involved in a wide variety of other complex litigation matters, including trademark and copyright disputes, partnership dissolutions, qui tam actions, and a variety of contract disputes.  Mr. Lyon has also successfully handled numerous traditional labor matters, ranging from layoff hearings, and labor disputes under collective bargaining agreements.  In addition, Mr. Lyon is a trained mediator, and has participated in the successful mediation and settlement of numerous matters.

 

Mr. Lyon speaks conversational French and Japanese.  Prior to his legal work, Mr. Lyon worked in New York in publishing.  He has written and illustrated a number of published children’s picture books, as well as other graphic writing projects.
